Description
Le Métro de Munich (Münchner U-Bahn) avec le S-Bahn constitue l’épine dorsale des transports publics de la capitale bavaroise, Munich.
Le 19 octobre 1971, le Métro de Munich a débuté son service de transport de passagers avec la première Ligne U6 entre Kieferngarten et Goetheplatz sur une longueur de 12 km.
Le 8 mai 1972, la branche Münchner Freiheit - Centre Olympique « Ligne Olympique » a été ouverte pour les Jeux Olympiques de 1972 et à partir de ce moment-là desservi par la Ligne U3 à partir de Goetheplatz. …

Ainsi le réseau souterrain de Munich a été le troisième à entrer en fonction en Allemagne - après le Métro de Berlin (18 février 1902) et le Métro de Hambourg (15 février 1912).
Le métro fonctionne sur un réseau de voies de 103,1 km avec 100 stations. Le résultat est un Réseau de Métro avec une des plus grandes densités de stations par habitant en Allemagne.
