Description

Fossanova Abbey is located about 100 km south-east of Rome. It is the finest example of a Cistercian Abbey and of the Burgundian Early Gothic style in Italy. It dates from the end of the 12th to the end of the 13th century. St Thomas Aquinas died there in 1274.
