Beschreibung

Die Abtei Fossanova liegt etwa 100 km südöstlich von Rom. Es ist das schönste Beispiel einer Zisterzienserabtei und des burgundischen Frühgotikstils in Italien. Sie stammt vom Ende des 12. bis Ende des 13. Jahrhunderts. Der heilige Thomas von Aquin starb dort 1274.
