The Chiesa del Santo Volto di Gesu is a church of Rome, in Portuense district, in via della Magliana. It is one of the most successful examples of modern religious architecture in Rome, comparable to other contemporary churches such as the Chiesa della Divina Misericordia of Richard Meier and the church of St Francis de Sales Lucretius Carbonara. It was built, designed by architects Peter and Nathalie Grenon Sartogo, between 2003 and 2006. The inauguration took place Saturday, March 18, 2006. Upon completion of the building other modern artists have contributed, including Mimmo Paladino, who made the Stations of the Cross made of glazed ceramic tiles, Mattiacci Elisha, author of the great cross outside, Carla Accardi, who has created a window of abstract contents, which divides the chapel of the Blessed Sacrament courtroom liturgical Dynys Clare, author of a sculptural composition of light, which takes a phrase from St Augustine.
